Think of what comes to mind when you hear the word hotels. When it comes to thinking about this major travel accessory, many people have the same mental picture. Hotels are usually known for their cookie cutter look, where every room looks the same as every other room. The rooms are usually small, cramped and impersonal. Many travelers had a hard time remembering the hotel stay after the trip was over. Luckily, those days are gone!

Hotels have started a new trend when it comes to design and personality. Many hotel owners are reaching out to designers and local artists, and asking them to help personalize the hotel. Depending upon the size of the hotel, each room in a hotel can be personalize in a small way. One room might have a personalized picture, another might have a different patter on the walls, while another has different bedding and sheets. A traveler could stay in a different room with a a different look for quite some time.

This recent trend has started because many people believed that hotels were all the same. In an attempt to stand out and make hotels a part of the traveler’s experience, hotel owners had to make a change. Instead of being impersonal and all the same, hotels have started to stand out and actually become an experience of their own. Beyond the rooms with bedding, hotels have started to expand and offer other services from water parks, playgrounds and even night clubs, hotels have started to make travelers want to visit their place. Some travelers even go out of their way to experience a specific hotel because of the services and attractions that they offer.

With a few cans of fresh paint and some design help, hotels were able to make a complete turn around. By offering a few out of the box ideas with a hotel stay, hotel owners have slowly started to change the way people view hotels.
